The recipient for 2008-09 is: Dr. Jan Colbert
"I'm honored to be selected as this year's Jack L. Dyer Excellence in Teaching Award recipient. Dr. Dyer's legacy of excellent teaching is well-known and it is humbling to follow in his footsteps as well as those of others who have been named Dyer award recipients in previous years. The award is especially significant to me, as Dr. Dyer's specific area of teaching was auditing as mine is!" -- Jan Colbert The Selection Committee, consisting of Dr. Allen Engle, Dr. Chang-Yang Lin, and Dr. Ed Davis (Chair), stated that Colbert’s continued and consistent commitment to excellence in teaching makes her a worthy recipient of the Jack Dyer Excellence in Teaching Award. "Dr. Colbert's commitment to excellence in the classroom is supported by her consistent high evaluations from her students and peers. In addition, Dr. Colbert has devoted a great deal of time and energy to curriculum development and instructional technology to enhance her teaching that contributes to her staying on the 'cutting edge' of her discipline. Dr. Colbert's commitment to providing quality educational experiences for students is exemplary."
