CBT ADVISING OFFICE

 

The College of Business and Technology Advising Office at Eastern Kentucky University is committed to delivering high quality academic advising for programs within the College of Business and Technology.

We strive to create an atmosphere conducive to effective advising for both students and faculty.

ATTENTION CBT STUDENTS

ADVISEES

Students under 60 hours in the Business program and those with Business & Technology General Studies degrees are assigned to CBT Advising for their advisors.

Official advising dates for Fall 2008:
University Advising Dates (BT Advising) November 5-December 5
COMM Students: November 5th & 6th
MMAC Students: November 5th-7th

Registration Dates
Students with 90+ hours earned -- November 12th
Students with 60+ hours earned -- November 17th
Students with 30+ hours earned -- November 19th
All continuing students may register: November 24th

Students are required to schedule an appointment with CBT Advising during the advising term in order to obtain Registration Access Code (RAC) numbers and assistance in determining courses.

Please call 859-622-1086 to schedule an appointment.

For each appointment, students are required to bring:

  • A Course Registration Form indicating possible courses of interest for the upcoming semester
  • A current copy of their CARES report.

Please check your EKU student email account regularly for information regarding advising.

GRADUATION

Graduation Application Deadlines
Spring Graduates: October 31st
Summer Graduates: October 31st
Fall Graduates: April 30th

Grad Fest information on cap/gown pick-up
will be sent from the Registrar's Office
mid-semester of your graduation term.

To apply for graduation follow these steps:

1. Print and complete the CBT Graduation Application.*

  • Be sure to print and complete both pages of the application.
  • All students applying for graduation will have a $20 fee added to their EKU account for each diploma.
  • Note that it is your responsibility to notify the CB&T Advising Office of any name, address, phone, and e-mail changes or if you plan to change your date of graduation in order to ensure that you receive your final transcript and diploma.

2. Complete the online survey(s). Click the hyperlink below, read the online instructions and complete the survey(s) as directed. Submit your completion verification form(s) with your graduation application materials.

The following two surveys must be completed ONLY by all teaching majors that require admission to the Teacher Education program:

3. Print and complete the EKU Alumni Association Information Sheet.

4. Select and proceed with one of the following options:

Option 1: Submit graduation documents via fax (859-622-1382), or in-person delivery to BTC 257.  

  • Confirmation of receipt for your graduation application will be provided via the email address indicated on your graduation application.  If you do not receive confirmation within one – two weeks, you must contact our office.
  • Advisors will review your application documents and contact you as needed via the email address or phone number indicated on your graduation application. 

Option 2: Call 859-622-1086 to schedule an exit interview if an in-person appointment is preferred.

5. Remit the documents completed in steps 1-3 using either Option 1 or Option 2 above:

      • Graduation Application
      • Online Survey Verification Form(s)
      • Alumni Association Information Sheet

 

*Attention CTE Majors: Students receiving a B.S. degree in Career & Technical Education must send their Graduation Application documents to Dr. Stephen Fardo.
