The Berea Entrepreneur Assistance Center(BEAC)
has a focus on assisting individuals with starting new businesses
and expanding existing operations, the Center provides formal training
and on-going technical support to the entrepreneurs of Berea.
BEAC is conducted by the City of Berea Tourism Commission under a contract with the Center for Economic Development,
Entrepreneurship and Technology of the College of Business and Technology
at Eastern Kentucky University. BEAC is staffed by a part time director and an assistant
and is located in Berea, KY.
The BEAC is now offering free monthly business workshops for local entrepreneuers. Classes are limited to 20 participants, and topics inlude writing a business plan, marketing and advertising, finances, web development, customer service, and more.

The training helps the entrepreneur replace myths
and unknowns with facts or reasonable projections allowing them
to make an intelligent decision regarding a venture. The entrepreneur
is always in control of the decision as to what, how, and when to
start a business.
BEAC provides a number of other services through
established strategic alliances. These include the SBA, Kentucky
Cabinet for Economic Development, Kentucky Highlands Investment
Corporation, the ARC, USDA, and the Economic Development Administration.
