Economic Development
Eastern Kentucky University's Center for Economic Development, Entrepreneurship and Technology's (CEDET) work involves several focus areas:
  • Entrepreneurship training and the development of an entrepreneurial culture
  • Kentucky's new economy through the Department of Commercialization Innovation
  • Artisan and Tourism-related economic development
  • Public-Private Partnerships


CEDET works to promote economic development in economically distressed areas utilizing university resources. Interdisciplinary teams of EKU faculty, staff, and students work on projects that promote economic development. Our work is not restricted to the focus areas listed above.
